I almost forgot to mention...

I totally forgot to mention to you guys about the fantastic show I saw a few weeks ago! I went to see this band called Bat for Lashes at the only local music venue in town The Canteen, with some co-workers. Man alive, it was good. I mean it was one of those special kind of shows that only come around every so often. Bat for Lashes is really just one girl, Natasha Khan, but live she plays with three other girls, and together they create this strange beautiful world where only they and the audience exist. A weird world filled with wolves and wizards and forests and horses and beauty. They sound vaguely similar to Kate Bush only not irritating, and a bit like Joanna Newsom only with a little more groove. They did a beauitful cover of Springsteens 'I'm on Fire' that I believe is the b-side to their new single Precilla. You should do yourself a favour and check out the link on the left. You won't be disappointed. I was a bit of a geek afterwards and briefly chatted to Natasha Khan and got her to autograph my cd and then I bought a t-shirt and a poster. What can I say, its not often you get to see such a good band in such a small venue. A venue that unfortunately was over half empty. The people that were there loved it though, and trust me, she will be receiving world wide acclaim before you know it.
There was something else I wanted to tell you as well, but I can't friggin remember. Uhhh? We booked the first part of our trip around Europe, starting in Brussels, Bruge, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt and on from there. But thats not what I wanted to tell you. Ummmm? Crap. I don't know. If it comes back to me I'll let you know. Now go check out the Bat for Lashes link.

Happy St Patricks Day!!!!

Well, its St Patricks Day and I have to say, its been a sad one. I've gotten used to Irish fry ups, and Guinness and ummm...lots and lots of Guiness, and singing and dancing and Kenny Rogers getting everybody crazy with The Gambler, and watching the Irish Rugby team and laughing and singing and drinking more Guinness and all night dance parties and being with all my great Irish friends and well, not this year. I had the privilege of being in Dublin for the last two years on this day but this year I was stuck at work, dealing with idiots and their idiot children scrambling to buy mothers day gifts and sour faced metal kids moping around in the shop for hours not buying anything, and idiot children knocking stuff over and their idiot parents not doing anything to prevent it, and idiot pseudo-depressed metal kids messing up the browsers and iritating me with their obvious-I-try-way-to-hard-yet-somehow-forgot-to-shower-fashion-sense. And now I'm home and I'm gonna have some dinner and watch a film and thats about it. Not quite as exciting as last year, but what can you do?
I'll drink my sorrows away this time next month when I'm in Amsterdam at the start of my trip around Europe.
Anyway, I'm not sure where this is going, all I'm trying to say is I hope everyone has a great Paddys day! I know the Irish will, although France winning the six nations at the last second has to be a hard pill to swallow, I'm sure you'll get on with it! Either way I'm pretty sure your feeling better than the English right now. They put in a poor preformance against Wales.
So yeah, hopefully I'll see most of you over in Europe next month! You a**holes had better make the effort! Happy St Paddys Day!!!!

p.s yesterday I was putting on my jean jacket and felt a bulge in the outside front pocket. I looked in and discovered the Chupa chup I got from the pub we were in last year on St Patricks day! That bathroom attendant dude was giving em away when you tipped him. Now I have a treat for later! Giddy up!
